University Alums and Cianci Highlighted in Hartford Business Journal, Rizzotti in Hartford Courant, and More
Five University of Hartford alumni were recently featured in the Hartford Business Journal’s annual "40 Under Forty" list of young professionals who are making their mark in Greater Hartford. The University alumni who were featured are: Emma Asante, community project manager for NBC Connecticut; Danielle Cyr, an award-winning public relations account manager for Co-Communications in Farmington; Brian Ferney, director of marketing communications for Comcast; Jennifer Healy, assistant vice president and annuity pricing actuary at The Hartford; and Kimalee Williams, president of Faith Asset Management, which provides elderly and low- to moderate-income residents with clean and safe housing. William Cianci, executive director of the Construction Institute at the University of Hartford, was quoted in the Monday, Aug. 16, issue of the Hartford Business Journal. In the article, which focuses on the construction activity at Quinnipiac University, which is building new residence halls and a new student center, Cianci notes that construction is down across the board —corporate and manufacturing projects are near zero and with the state’s government low on cash, public projects are pushed aside. A spotlight article on Jennifer Rizzotti that highlighted her career as a player and as coach of the University of Hartford Hawks women’s basketball team was written and posted on the Hartford Courant’s website on Aug. 13 by John Altavilla. He noted that “during her 11 years, the [the University of Hartford] program has become an America East powerhouse and nationally respected program. The Hawks have won four regular season championships, four tournament championships in eight years and made five trips to the NCAAs.” To read the full article, click here.
An interview with attorney Jeff Gentes on the Fox CT Morning Show on Thursday, Aug. 12, highlighted the monthly Foreclosure Prevention Clinics, put on in by the Connecticut Fair Housing Center and at which University of Hartford paralegal studies students work. Peter Lisi, director of institutional partnerships and sponsored research in the University’s Office of Institutional Advancement, was recently appointed by Gov. Jodi Rell to the board of directors of the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA). His appointment was noted in the Hartford Courant’s “Career Ladder” column on Aug. 16.
