"Action Research in Administrative Internships" is the title of an article written by Judith Houle, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, ENHP, and published in the Summer 2005 edition of Academic Exchange Quarterly. This themed edition focused on "Teaching Leadership and Teaching Leaders," featuring several perspectives on the preparation of leaders for K-12 schools.
The focus of Houle’s article is on the use of action research as a method for shaping meaningful internship experiences and providing interns with a way to engage with colleagues in data-driven decision-making strategies for their schools and districts.
Mary Jane Williams, associate professor of nursing, ENHP, was invited to participate in the American Nurses Association Constituent Member Association Lobbyists Meeting on Environment Health, on September 21, 2005, in Washington, D.C. This program was supported by the Belden Fund in collaboration with the American Nurses Association.
Williams gave a presentation titled "Coalition Building Related to Environmental Health," on building coalitions with environmental health groups and the successes and lessons that can be learned with respect to state policy. She also served as a group facilitator for national strategic planning related to environmental issues.
