Amanda Carlson, assistant professor of art history, recently contributed to the book, Converging Territories (Power House Books, 2005), with an essay about Moroccan artist Lalla Essaydi and an interview with the artist. The book is a companion
publication to an exhibition that is currently on view at the Laurence
Miller Gallery in New York City. Lalla Essaydi will be speaking at the
University of Hartford on March 3, 2005.
In addition, Carlson spoke at the Avon Theatre in Stamford, Conn., on Jan. 15, 2005. She introduced the film Hotel Rwanda and led a post-film discussion about Rwandan history and the 1994 genocide, foreign policy, and global politics.
