Accolades: Christine Lissitzyn, Len Milling

Associate Professor Christine Lissitzyn of the A&S Legal Studies Department was named the Grand Award Winner of the West Publishing Company Excellence in Teaching Competition held at the annual meeting of the American Association for Paralegal Education on Oct. 20. Lissitzyn presented a course lesson from her class "Law, Medicine, and Morality," which she will teach as an Honors Seminar in Spring 2006.


Len Milling, associate professor of psychology, College of Arts and Sciences, organized and chaired a symposium on becoming a school psychologist at the annual convention of the New England Psychological Association in New Haven, Conn., on Oct. 15.

Presenters included former University of Hartford students Jacqlyn Tumolo (B.A., '04), Jessica Scorso (M.S. in school psychology, '03), and Emily Shutte (M.S. in school psychology, '03). Jacqlyn Tumolo is now a second-year graduate student in the M.S. program in school psychology at Towson University in Maryland. Jessica Scorso is a school psychologist in the Lebanon Public Schools in Lebanon, Conn. Emily Shutte is a school psychologist in the Waterbury Public Schools in Waterbury, Conn.
