Accolades: Sundeep Muppidi

Associate Professor of Communication Sundeep R. Muppidi has been sharing his expertise on a variety of communication and information technology issues during a busy sabbatical visit to Asia.

Muppidi participated in the Global Entrepolis 2005 conference in Singapore in late September. He was an invited delegate at the Media Industry Forum and an invited guest at the India IT Forum, both of which were part of the Singapore conference. Global Entrepolis is an international marketplace connecting enterprises to funds, markets, partners, and technology. Read more about the Global Entrepolis 2005 conference.

Muppidi also spent a week at the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre in Singapore, and he was asked to lend his expertise to four of their communication projects:
  • Funding implications of public service broadcasting in Asia. UNESCO Funded Project. Muppidi was asked to serve as a contributor on this project.


  • Asian Communication Handbook – Muppidi was asked to serve as a contributor on this project.


  • Media pluralism and independence. UNESCO Funded Project. Muppidi was asked to serve as a contributor on this project.


  • Status and relevance of journalism education in five countries of the Asia-Pacific. UNESCO Funded Project. Muppidi was asked to serve as project team leader and also as supervisor for India.
In addition to those activities, Muppidi also addressed and interacted with students and faculty at the following schools of communication as a visiting professor:
  • School of Communication and Information Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore


  • Department of Journalism, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India


  • Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal, India


  • Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad, India
