University of Hartford senior co-captain Tim Fallon was recognized as a second team preseason All-America choice as released by Inside Lacrosse’s Faceoff Yearbook, which previews the upcoming 2011 season. Fallon is one of six America East all-conference selections from last season tabbed preseason All-American in the publication.

Fallon, a face-off specialist who earned Division I USILA All-American recognition last season, will look to build off one of the most successful individual seasons in program history. As a junior, he dominated the face-off X, winning 207 of his 333 duels (62.2-percent) while scooping up 131 ground balls (9.4 per game), ranking on top of the NCAA statistics in both categories. In addition, LaxPower.com named Fallon to the first team on its inaugural All-American team.

A two-time America East All-Conference selection who garnered first team honors last year, Fallon posted career-best numbers offensively where he tallied seven points including three goals and four assists. The Lowell, Mass., native engraved his name in the Hartford career record book, breaking the all-time single season ground ball record with 131. In addition, his face-off percentage of 62.2 is the second-best recorded by a Hawk in a single season. Fallon also cracked the program’s all-time career record books, sliding into the seventh spot with 238 ground balls.

Hartford finished 4-10 on the season and concluded America East conference play with a mark of 1-4. The Hawks posted the most wins since the 2003 campaign when they finished 9-8 overall. In addition, Hartford lost six games by two goals or less, including five by a single goal. The team, which graduates only a pair of seniors, will return all but one starter and adds 10 newcomers to the roster for the 2011 season.
