The University Libraries recently added several specialized online encyclopedias. These new resources are available to all holders of university e-mail accounts anywhere, anytime. The complete text of the encyclopedias can be searched, giving you access to reliable information quickly and easily. The titles available are:
  • Encyclopedia of Buddhism (2 vols, 2004)

  • Encyclopedia of Business and Finance (2 vols, 2001)

  • Encyclopedia of Clothing and Fashion (3 vols, 2005)

  • Encyclopedia of Education (8 vols, 2003)

  • Encyclopedia of Population (2 vols, 2003)

  • Encyclopedia of the Modern Middle East and North Africa (4 vols, 2004)

  • West's Encyclopedia of American Law (13 vols, 2005)
All of these titles are published by the Gale Group and its subsidiaries (which include Macmillan). Access to individual titles is available through the Libraries' Catalog. Just search for the title you want. You can also search several of the encyclopedias at once by going to the Electronic Books section of our Web Reference Tools and choosing Gale Virtual Reference Library. Note that there are links to many other e-book finding tools on this list.

The Libraries are always looking for ways to improve access to information and to make good information easily available. As more publishers make reference materials available online, we will consider them for purchase. We welcome your comments and suggestions on this and other services.
