Cow-Chip Raffle to Benefit Women's Soccer and Softball Programs
The University of Hartford Department of Athletics has announced a joint fundraising opportunity between the women’s soccer and softball teams. The first ever Cow-Chip Raffle will take place on Saturday, April 16, on the Campus Recreation Field located behind the softball and soccer/lacrosse field.
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $20, which will get you a one-foot square plot of land on the recreation field. On April 16, at 1 a.m., a cow will be released into the field and prizes will be awarded to ticket holders on whose plots the cow defecates. If the cow defecates in several plots or upon the dividing line of plots, the droppings will be weighed, and the individual holding the ticket corresponding to the plot with the contents that weigh the most shall be considered the winner.
Three cash prizes will be awarded with first place receiving $1,500. Second place will receive $500 and third place $200.
There will be plenty of activity around the Campus Recreation Field on April 16. Fans waiting for the winner to be determined can watch the baseball and softball team play conference doubleheaders.
