The artists of Drive By Press are in residence this week (Sept. 16–20) in the Print Studios in Taub Hall of the Hartford Art School.

Drive By Press is a group of artists and designers who create unique apparel using the technique of wood-block printing.

They will give a public lecture today (Tuesday, Sept. 17) at 2:30 p.m. in the Book Arts Studio in Taub Hall, and will show their relief prints after the talk.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, they will set up their mobile studio by the flagpoles at the Harry Jack Gray Center, where they will print hand carved woodblock prints onto T-shirts. This event will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. T-shirts are $20 each ( $10 if you bring your own shirt for them to print on).

During the week, the Drive by Press artists will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, as well as creating a limited edition relief print. Please feel free to stop by our studios anytime to peak in on what they are doing.

Drive By Press founders Greg Nanney and Taylor McClure are wonderful artists who have a true passion for prints. They are committed to sharing relief printmaking with as broad an audience as possible and have traveled the country in their mobile studio (a printing press and all the fixings in the back of a van) to see this mission through.

Hope to see you all!
