Sanders Publishes his 62nd Book – Smashing HTML5
For most people, publishing a book is the achievement of a lifetime – but Bill Sanders, professor of Multimedia Web Design and Development, has just published his 62nd!
After having virtually no change in 10 years, HTML5 represents a renaissance in Web page development and design, recognizing the tremendous changes in the last decade in Internet technology and use. HTML5 is so new that some beta versions of the new browsers had to be used for the testing (e.g., Internet Explorer 9) and development was possible only by using different browsers for different elements. The well-known Smashing Magazine (an online Web magazine with 250,000 subscribers) is the branding on the “Smashing” series and provides a tie-in with the Multimedia Web Design and Development program at the University of Hartford. The new book is already being translated into Russian and Spanish.
Sanders has been developing software for the last 27 years. He has consulted and developed software for major software companies as well as other business clients. As a professor of Multimedia Web Design and Development, Sanders focuses on the interactive aspects of the Web and Internet, with an emphasis on information construction and communication.
Sanders' 62 books are in the fields of sociology and computers/technology. Sanders holds a PhD in sociology, and he got his start writing books while he was a graduate student in sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
