About Our Gift Calculator
Simply call your life insurance representative or the insurance company and ask for a change of beneficiary form. There is no cost to change beneficiaries.
Transfer ownership of your cash value life insurance policy to the "University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT."
You will receive a charitable income tax deduction for making the gift. For any additional premiums paid toward the policy, you would receive a charitable income tax deduction that you could use if you itemize your deductions.
Establish a new charitable life insurance policy.
Provided that the University of Hartford receives all incidents of ownership in the policy, you will be eligible for a charitable income tax deduction each time a gift is made to support the policy.
Create a Charitable Remainder Trust and use a life insurance policy to replace the future value of your gift.
This gift planning strategy can be illustrated for you by our director of Planned Giving.
Instruct the University of Hartford to use either your cash surrender value or the death benefit from your gift of a life insurance policy to establish a named, endowed fund.
This charitable gift planning technique can be used to establish a new permanent endowment fund or supplement an existing one, to support an area of particular and meaningful interest to you. Please contact us to discuss how life insurance might help you to meet your charitable goals.
