Adam Chiara is an Applied Assistant Professor in the School of Communication. He teaches courses in social media, public relations, and digital media.
Chiara is an authority on issues relating to social media’s impact on politics and media. He is a regular contributor for The Hill and is frequently interviewed for expert commentary. Whether in the classroom, on camera, or in his writing, Chiara draws on his vast experience working in journalism, public relations, and politics.
Early in his career, Chiara was an award-winning journalist who covered stories for several media outlets in the Hartford area. He also did communication work for Yale University’s Rudd Center (now UConn Rudd Center) and Universal Health Care Foundation. In addition to journalism and public relations, Chiara has a background in politics, public policy, and legislative process from the time he spent managing political campaigns and working at the Connecticut General Assembly.
