More than a Meal
Dining is an important part of life at UHart, with places to grab a meal, recharge between classes, spend time with friends, and connect across campus. As UHart’s dining experience continues to evolve, the focus is on giving students more choices and creating spaces that fit the way they live, learn, and spend their time on campus.
The Landing Takes Shape
One of UHart’s most anticipated campus transformations is underway at the Konover Campus Center, bringing an exciting new destination to the residential side of campus.
Opening during the fall semester, The Landing will feature indoor and outdoor seating for nearly 300 students, a brick pizza oven, an outdoor patio overlooking the pond, and flexible spaces for studying, socializing, performances, and events.
Student feedback is helping shape the menu, which will feature UHart’s take on Connecticut favorites, including pizza, burgers, wings, and elevated comfort foods.
More than a new place to eat, The Landing will become a hub where dining, events, and campus life come together.
Places to Eat
From breakfast to late-night bites, UHart offers dining options to keep you fueled throughout the day.
Academic year regular hours of operation are coming soon.
Located in Gengras Student Union, Gengras Café is a convenient stop between classes, featuring Moe’s Southwest Grill, a fresh salad bar, and rotating dining concepts that bring even more variety to the menu.

When the day runs late, UHart has options to match. The food trailer outside Commons and Commons After Dark offer an expanded selection of late-night favorites for students after evening classes, rehearsals, practices, and activities.
The new Nest Market makes it easy to grab what you need throughout the day, with grab-and-go meals, snacks, beverages, and everyday essentials.
UHart’s own Park River Bakery keeps campus stocked with freshly baked cookies, cakes, and other sweet treats, all made right here on campus. You can view the entire menu of delicious cookies and cakes at parkriverbakery.catertrax.
Located in Harrison Libraries, Starbucks offers the drinks and food students know and love, along with Nitro Cold Brew and the new Starbucks Connect experience in a newly renovated space.
A go-to for dining on campus, University Commons offers freshly prepared meals throughout the day, from familiar favorites and globally inspired dishes to vegetarian and vegan options. It’s also home to UHart traditions like Midnight Breakfast, bringing students together for one of campus’s favorite late-night events.
Selecting a Meal Plan
First-Year students will be defaulted into the “7 Day All Access” plan. This plan offers unlimited meal swipes into the University Commons and includes $100 dining dollars. As our most popular option for first-year students, this plan provides flexibility to meet with new friends for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner 7 days a week!
Students can change their meal plan over the summer and into the first two weeks of the fall semester. More information about how to change/update meal plans will be sent to students through their UHart email. Please contact helpdesk@hartford.edu with any questions.
Returning students will be defaulted into the “Weekly 14” meal plan. This new plan, designed in partnership with Student Government Association (SGA), allows students to use up to 14 meal swipes per week interchangeably at Commons or as a meal equivalency, and includes $600 dining dollars. This new plan provides flexibility for the lifestyle of a busy returning student.
If the defaulted meal plan doesn’t fit the student’s needs, they will have the opportunity to select a different meal plan over the summer and into the first two weeks of the fall semester. More information about how to change/update meal plans will be sent to students through their UHart email. Please contact helpdesk@hartford.edu with any questions.
