Exercise Science Students Excel at the NEACSM Fall Conference

Last week, all 3rd and 4th-year Exercise Science students attended the New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (NEACSM) Fall 2023 Conference at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA. The title of this year’s conference was “Back to the Future: Forging Future Horizons through History.” This year marked NEACSM's 50th anniversary!

At the conference, 4th-year Exercise Science student, Sarah Kulpa, was awarded the 2023 NEACSM Undergraduate Research Award for her honors research project titled Hydration and Sports Nutrition Education for Division III Athletes.

Meanwhile, UHart’s debut College Bowl team placed 3rd in the 2023 Peter Ronai College Bowl, an interscholastic exercise science trivia quiz competition. They faced off against 19 other regional schools, placing the highest of any Connecticut team! Team members included Dylan Barnett, Crystal Gallagher, Helen Newman, and Emeline Arnold (manager/alternate).
