Kate Pendergast is vice president of Development & Alumni Affairs at the University of Hartford, where she is responsible for leading all aspects of the University’s efforts around fundraising, alumni engagement, industry partnerships, and career services.
Before joining the University of Hartford in 2010, Kate served as Executive Director of the American Heart Association, accountable for the New Hampshire Chapter’s strategic fundraising and corporate outreach efforts. She also directed corporate and community partnerships for the Capital Region Education Council (CREC).
She shares her advancement expertise as a panelist for industry groups such as the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and Planned Giving Group of CT. She has served as a mission speaker for the American Heart Association’s Infant CPR program and co-chaired the University of Delaware’s reunion fundraising committee. She was also recognized by the Hartford Business Journal with a "Women in Business Award."
Kate holds a B.A. in English/Journalism from the University of Delaware, where she was also a four-year member of the Women’s Soccer Team, and an M.A. in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut.
