Dr. Powell is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology. He teaches courses in Social Psychology, the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality, Research Methods and Statistics, History and Systems of Psychology, and Introductory Psychology. Dr. Powell is a recipient of the University of Hartford’s Roy E. Larsen Award for Excellence in Teaching.

He has published widely in the general area of social psychology and is currently interested in spirituality, morality, and how individuals attempt to make meaning of the events in their lives.
