After earning three degrees from the University of Hartford over 40 years ago, Dr. David H Goldenberg returned to Hartford in 2001 and served as a professor and later Dean of Hillyer College, a position he held until 2022. He currently is a professor of business for Hillyer. He earned his doctorate in administration from Illinois State University. In addition, he has done post-doctoral studies at Cornell University and Oxford University.

He left the Hartford area in 1976 to become assistant to New York State's Commissioner of Education before joining the administration of Bradley University (Illinois) for the next nine years. He subsequently served as dean, associate provost, chief academic officer and chancellor at colleges in Kentucky, New York and Pennsylvania.

His work is nationally respected having been selected by The American College Testing Program (ACT) as having the outstanding advising program at a private university in the United States. While in Louisville, he helped develop the online company, ABI/Inform, into the largest database of business information in the world.

He has numerous books, monographs and articles related to education law and administration of higher education. His work has earned him honors as the Distinguished Alumnus of both University of Hartford and Illinois State University. In addition, to his academic work, he retired from NCAA Division I basketball coaching with the highest percentage win rate of anyone - 100% - with a perfect 1-0 record.
