Ph.D. in aeroacoustics
We're delighted to announce that Christopher Jasinski '12, Ph.D. has joined the Mechanical Engineering Department as our newest Professor in Acoustics. Dr. Jasinski graduated from our BSE Acoustical Engineering & Music program in 2012, where he conducted research and studied across multiple acoustics fields such as musical acoustics, psychoacoustics, and architectural acoustics. His senior project resulted in the Robert Bradford Newman Student Medal for Merit in Architectural Acoustics, as well as a published article in the refereed Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA). Based on his experience during a summer internship at NASA Langley, he decided to apply to Notre Dame, where he earned his Masters of Science and Ph.D. in aeroacoustics, while researching ways to reduce drag in the acoustic liners of jet engines. During his graduate work, he maintained active involvement with the Acoustical Society of America's Student Council. An accomplished classical percussionist, Dr. Jasinski is looking forward to working with our students here at U. of Hartford Acoustics. So are we!
