#UHartInspires: Graduate Assistant Cleans Up While Social Distancing
Graduate Assistant Katy Henchy ’18 began taking daily solitary walks for exercise in her neighborhood and local parks because of social distancing. She found that the view was not always what she hoped for, so she bought a trash grabber and began picking up the trash along the way.
“I noticed how much trash there was and decided I could help out,” Henchy said. “During my first two times doing it, people stopped and thanked me and said they were going to start picking up trash on their walks too.”
Thank you Katy for seeing a problem during the COVID-19 pandemic, working to solve it, and inspiring others to do the same.
