Banned Books Week Displays at the Harrison Libraries

Banned Books Week is Oct. 1 – Oct. 7, and this year's theme is Celebrating the Freedom to Read. The Harrison Libraries will be highlighting 2022's thirteen most challenged books, which can be found on display in front of the reference desk on the main floor. All thirteen books were generously donated by Professor Stacey Rubin, who collaborated with the library to create the display, as well as providing a handmade, informative book of facts about book challenges.

To give everyone an opportunity to see the display and to learn more about banned and challenged books, we ask that these books remain in the library for the next week, until Wednesday, Sept. 27, when they will become available to borrow. Until then, please feel free to read through them while you're visiting the library!

A second display showcasing a selection of the most challenged books from previous years is located to the side of the reference desk. These books are currently available for checkout.

Interested in learning more? Be sure to check out the display that will be going up soon in the Allen Library during Banned Books Week!
