Professor Outlines Impact of Government Actions in News

The potential government shutdown and recent minimum wage announcements have led to multiple news interviews for Ken Goroshko, a business professor at the University of Hartford.

Goroshko, an executive in residence for economics, finance, and insurance at UHart’s Barney School of Business, recently spoke with Inc. Magazine and Fox 61.

If the government proceeds with a shutdown, consumers who depend on government programs will quickly feel the impacts, Goroshko told Inc. in the recent article. You will also see a ripple effect from the federal government to state and local governments and communities.

He detailed possible federal worker furloughs on Fox 61, as well as the potential disruption of WIC and SNAP programs.

Goroshko also provided context for a Fox 61 story on an increase in the minimum wage, explaining how a wage adjustment could affect businesses across the state.
