Minimum Wage Increase

Effective Jan. 1, 2024Connecticut’s minimum wage increased from $15.00 per hour to $15.69 per hour. This affects the hourly rate paid to all student workers and/or all temporary employees.

All employees making $15.00 per hour have been increased to the new minimum wage rate already. Departments will need to submit a revised ePAF and/or Roster Form if you wish to pay the student worker and/or temporary worker more than $15.69 per hour.

Federal Work Study Reminders

  • Federal Work Study aid packages encompass the entire academic year, not just one semester
  • Students may only work 1 FWS position at a time, with a maximum total of 24 hours/week on campus while school is in session between all on-campus positions (both FWS and Non-FWS)
  • Supervisors are to collaborate with FWS students to ensure that their scheduled work hours are not exceeding their total aid package/running out of funding
  • Please refer to the ‘Validate Student’ link in Employee Self-Service in order to confirm maximum eligibility funding for FWS students
