On Monday, April 8, the first solar eclipse since 2017 will race across the United States. While we are not in the path of totality, where the sun is 100% blocked by the moon and day will become night, we will experience approximately a 93% block of the sun from around 3:30 p.m., to 4:30 p.m.
Because we are not in the path of totality, you need special eyewear to view the eclipse as it occurs. The Harrison Libraries will have a significant number of NASA-approved eclipse glasses available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Just ask at the Mortensen or Allen Circulation Desks for a pair or two!
The United States will not see another solar eclipse for 20 years, so don't miss your chance to see this amazing and rare occurance!
