All University of Hartford students are invited to participate in the first ever campus-wide Career Exploration Day, taking place on Thursday, April 18! In its inaugural year, the University has partnered with 10 local organizations that will give up to 200 students an exclusive look at their facilities and day-to-day operations. Students will gain a greater understanding of these organizations by shadowing professionals and networking with current employees. Additionally, students will hear from HR directly on what the organization is looking for when hiring future talent. There is no better way to understand what it’s like to work at an organization than by seeing it first-hand. This is an invaluable experience that you don't want to miss!
Participating organizations include:
- American Red Cross (connected majors: health sciences, liberal arts, nursing, communications)
- Hartford Steam Boiler (connected majors: all business majors, computer science, cybersecurity)
- Virtus Investment Management (connected majors: finance, management, communications)
- Laz Parking Corporate Office (connected majors: accounting, finance, computer science, computer engineering)
- Triumph (full)
- Stanley Black & Decker (full)
- NBC 30 (connected majors: communications, journalism, writing, English, production, art & design)
- CVS Health (Aetna) (connected majors: all business majors, liberal arts, communications, health sciences, nursing)

- Pratt Street Small Business Crawl (several small businesses) (all majors)
Students will depart campus on buses at 8:30 a.m., and arrive back at approximately 12:45 p.m. Students are permitted to miss class for this opportunity as long as they speak with their faculty ahead of time; however, students should not miss presentations or exams.
