Excel Training Series

Information Technology Services is pleased to announce the beginning of a new series of technology training. It is our hope that we will be able to make training opportunities available to our new and existing staff and faculty. To that end, please join us for our first offerings on Excel.  In the future, we hope to offer regularly scheduled Banner and other computer system training.

All training sessions will take place in CC114. Space is limited, and seating is first come/first served. Email us at empower@hartford.edu for more information or to sign up for a class or to suggest future classes.

Beginning Excel

This is a basic introductory course for Microsoft Excel.  If you have never used the program, or haven’t touched it in years, this is the perfect place to begin thinking about this spreadsheet application.

Excel Formulas

Let Excel do the math for you!  This class covers basic formulas and function in Excel.  It includes an overview of the best practices for equations in Excel.

Intermediate Formulas

May 21,
10 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

This class covers more formulas and function in Excel.  It includes IF, COUNT, COUNTIF, and LOOKUP.

Formatting and Charts in Excel

A picture is worth a thousand words!  This class helps you to format your spreadsheets for maximum clarity and turn your data into charts that look polished and complete.

Pivot Tables in Excel

Pivot tables are a data summarization tool that will help you manipulate your data for better analysis.  Among other functions, this tool can help you quickly sort, count, total or average large amounts of data.
