Hillyer College Associate Professor of Political Science Bilal Sekou made recent appearances on two of Connecticut’s top media outlets.

He appeared on NBC Connecticut on Friday, March 29, to offer commentary during the station’s coverage of the funeral of former U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman. Sekou spoke about Lieberman’s commitment to public service and his legacy. You can watch the coverage, with Sekou’s comments beginning eight minutes into the program.

Sekou also appeared on WNPR’s The Wheelhouse this week with Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas, Chief WFSB News Political Reporter Susan Raff, and CT Mirror Capitol Bureau Chief Mark Pazniokas, to discuss presidential primary day in Connecticut. It was the first time Connecticut voters were able to vote early. Sekou talked about the need for more public education about early voting to help make it more successful.

Sekou serves as chairman of Common Cause Connecticut, a nonprofit that lobbies for open, honest, and accountable government, voters’ rights, and election reform.
