Faculty needed for the New Faculty Mentor Network

We are growing our faculty mentorship program and we need experienced faculty to help support new faculty. Serving as a faculty mentor can be a rewarding experience by providing valuable advice and support to help new faculty successfully acclimate to life at the University of Hartford. Additionally, developing others is a great opportunity for university service.

Mentor expectations:

  • Meet faculty at the new faculty lunch on Aug. 19 if possible
  • Meet with new faculty member at least 2x in the fall and 2x in the spring
  • Be accessible and responsive
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Provide advice and guidance
  • Be a role-model
  • Help faculty navigate UHart

Timeline:

  • New faculty fill out information sheet and interest form: mid-July
  • Faculty matched with mentors based on interest and need: late-July / early-August
  • Introductions at Aug. 19 new faculty orientation

If you are interested in joining the mentor network and have gone through your mid-course or intitial review, please fill out this form to learn more. We will provide you with information and resources to support your role and lunch vouchers will be available.
