Currently students are able to change their major throughout the semester. The continuous major changes has led to some system issues. To manage changes to student majors, we are implementing specific timeframes for the major changes that will align with the add/drop and registration periods.
Beginning in the fall of 2025, the last day for students to submit a change of major request will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2025. Any change of major submitted by 11:59 p.m. on this date will proceed through the approval process, and if approved, the student’s record will be updated.
Students can also make changes to their major during October in preparation for registration for the spring 2026 term. The deadline for these requests is Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Furthermore, changes in major requests will be accepted from the end of the fall 2025 term through the first two weeks of the spring 2026 term.
If students have any questions or concerns about their courses or curriculum while they await the timeframe to process a change of major request, they should see their advisors who can assist, especially in cases that are time-sensitive and are outside the time period for processing.
