Are you an honors student looking to get 3 honors credits this semester? You can turn a class you’re already enrolled in into an honors class by submitting and completing an Honors Contract. For an Honors Contract, students typically do a research paper, presentation, or creative project on top of the regular coursework.
Here is the process:
- Identify the course you’d like to do a project/paper in, and formulate an idea for the paper/project;
- Get creative with the project—explore your passion;
- Speak with the course instructor to get their approval for the paper/project;
- Complete the form, found here, by Friday, Sept. 19;
- Make sure to only use the instructors @hartford.edu email address;
- Work should be equivalent to ~10-15 written pages;
- Be specific about what you plan to do (plans may change—that’s okay!);
- Stay in touch with your instructor to be sure they received and completed the request for approval;
- Work on the contract throughout the semester, it's due the final week of classes (students must receive a B or higher in the course).
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your Honors College Coordinator, or the University Honors Director, Dr. Schoenecker at schoeneck@hartford.edu.
