2026 Minimum Wage Increase

Effective January 1, 2026, Connecticut’s minimum wage will increase from $16.35 per hour to $16.94 per hour. This will affect the hourly rate paid to all non-exempt employees.

Departmental salary budgets will not be adjusted to account for this increase, so please plan accordingly especially when hiring and/or scheduling your student and/or temporary workers. Please also monitor Federal Work Study hours worked as compared to award amounts.

Departments will not need to submit a revised ePAF and/or Roster Form unless you wish to pay the student and/or temporary worker more than the mandatory minimum wage.

*If you are re-hiring student and/or temporary workers after January 1, 2026, utilizing the Reactivate ePAF, please remember to update the hourly rate to $16.94.

If you have any questions, please contact HRD at hrd@hartford.edu or x4666.
