Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities

This month’s well-received Professional Development Wednesday, “Voice, Values, Visibility,” featuring environmental advocate Celine Cousteau, invited all of us to ponder the ways in which we’re interconnected and interdependent. If you’re eager for more opportunities to gather as a community, share expertise, and build on our commitment to becoming a stronger people organization—there’s much more in store.

Monday, October 20 is the next open session with President Ward in Hawk Lounge in GSU. Drop in, share about your UHart experience, or just chat at these informal monthly conversations.

The next Welcome Wednesday is on October 22 from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Computer Center. You’re invited to connect with colleagues from the Offices of the President, Provost, Inclusive Excellence and Belonging, and Finance, and view pieces of UHart’s rich history from the University Archives.

And the next Professional Development Wednesday arrives on November 12, from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. With topics ranging from myths and facts about Thanksgiving to using AI in your professional life, these sessions are a great opportunity to learn from your fellow faculty and staff members and make connections across schools and departments. Be sure to register early as space is limited in many of the sessions.

If you have an idea for a future professional development opportunity, or you’re interested in hosting a session, share your ideas here.
