Summer Place at the University of Hartford blends creativity, learning, and friendship in a safe, supportive campus environment.
From building rockets to taking the stage, campers explore favorite interests and discover new ones—guided by experienced educators and caring counselors who help build confidence and spark curiosity.
Our 2026 season runs June 29–August 7, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with half-day options for preschool and kindergarten and extended care available before and after camp.

Whether your child is just starting preschool or preparing for high school, there’s a program designed to help them grow, discover, and shine.
Our flagship program for campers entering grades 1–9. Each child customizes their day by choosing classes that match their interests—from Woodworking and STEM to Theater, Culinary Arts, Wilderness/Nature, and Recreational Sports. With new friends, experienced counselors, and a supportive environment, no two days are ever the same.
Held on the University of Hartford campus, offered in six one-week sessions.
Designed especially for preschoolers, Li’l Place introduces young learners to the joy of discovery through art, music, storytelling, and play. Each day is filled with age-appropriate activities in a safe, nurturing environment—perfect for children just beginning their camp experience.
Held at the University’s magnet school, offered in six one-week sessions.
A kindergarten readiness program that blends the excitement of camp with hands-on learning experiences. Campers build social, creative, and problem-solving skills through structured play and exploration.
Held at the University’s magnet school, offered in six one-week sessions.
The SPLIT program helps high school students develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills as they prepare for future opportunities. Participants gain hands-on experience working with younger campers, take part in off-campus trips, and complete American Safety and Health Institute swim instruction.
Held on campus, offered in three two-week sessions.
The SPRC program introduces campers to the fundamentals of robotics and coding through hands-on design, programming, and engineering challenges. Campers build and program their own robots, explore key engineering concepts, and work in teams to solve real-world problems.

Summer Place Robotics & Coding (SPRC) is a dynamic, two-week immersive camp that introduces rising 9th–11th-grade campers to the practical fundamentals of robotics and coding.
Dates and Fees
Two-Week Immersive Program
- Dates: June 29–July 10*
- Camp fee: $1,110
- Early registration: 10% discount for registrations received by February 15
Extended Hours (Optional)
- Morning care: 7:15–8:15 a.m.
- Fee: $110 for the two-week session
*Dates include a schedule adjustment for the July 4 holiday.
Lunch and Snacks
Campers may also bring additional snacks and beverages in spill-proof containers to enjoy throughout the day. A prepaid lunch option is also available—view lunch menu.
Lunch fee: $110 per weekly session.
Transportation (one-way only)
Free morning-only bus transportation is available for campers enrolled in the Robotics & Coding program.
Due to the program's half-day schedule, afternoon transportation is not available. All campers must be picked up directly from campus at dismissal.

Lunch and Bus Service
Our camp programs offer convenient transportation and lunch options to make every camper’s day easy and enjoyable. Families can take advantage of complimentary bus service along several routes throughout Greater Hartford or choose door-to-door transportation for West Hartford residents for an additional fee. Bus space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.Lunch is available to campers in Grades 1–12 through Aramark, with gluten-free and allergen-friendly options, or families can send a brown-bag lunch from home.
