Jennifer Petro is the Director at University of Hartford GIPP and serves at the Director of Clinical Training, overseeing the Doctoral Internship process. She teaches Professional Practice Seminar, Professional Development Seminar, and Clinical Lifespan Development. Prior to joining GIPP, Dr. Petro worked as a clinician and supervisor in college mental health settings and established an APA-accredited doctoral internship in health service psychology in her role as Director of Training. She is licensed as a clinical psychologist in Connecticut and New York and maintains a small private practice in northeastern Connecticut.
Interest Areas: Dr. Petro’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, shame, interpersonal relational patterns, use of humor/metaphor in psychotherapy, gender-affirming care, and clinical supervision/training.
