Teaching Focus

Dr. Butcher teaches coursework within the musculoskeletal and therapeutic intervention subject areas, along with supervising students in the Doctoral Research Series. Her clinical expertise is in orthopedic physical therapy and therapeutic interventions.

PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS

Dr. Butcher’s research interests include social determinants of health and health equity, as they relate to physical therapy access and outcomes. She is involved with the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy as an item writer for the National Physical Therapy Examination, along with the APTA’s Academy of Leadership and Innovation as the Research Committee Chair. Dr. Butcher also maintains a clinical practice alongside her teaching and research.
