Teaching Focus
Dr. Pogemiller teaches in coursework for foundational content including kinesiology, biomechanics, and clinical skills for graduate students in both the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics programs. She also orchestrates student placements in local and national clinical sites in the Doctor of Physical Therapy clinical education courses including both part-time and full-time experiences. She emphasizes providing context and relevance for foundational knowledge to allow students to make successful clinical connections in practice. Her expertise is in quantitative gait analysis and interpretation for both pediatric and adult clinical treatment recommendations.
Professional Interests Focus
Dr. Pogemiller’s professional interests include 3D gait analysis for clinical decision making to optimize human movement. She also has professional interest in how to support student learning in physical therapy education and understand best practices in teaching and learning in higher education.
