Luke Ashworth is a bassoonist, educator, and scholar based in Connecticut. He holds dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Bassoon Performance and Music Education from The Hartt School, where he also completed a minor in Music History, and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance.

As a performer, Ashworth has appeared with ensembles throughout New England and has performed on both bassoon and contrabassoon in orchestral, wind, and chamber settings. He can be seen performing with the Hartford, New Britain, and Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician and recitalist, Ashworth has performed all along the Eastern United States as well as in Europe and South Africa. His musical interests span historical performance, contemporary music, and lesser-known repertoire, with a particular interest in overlooked works and composers. Alongside his performance work, Ashworth is active as an educator and scholar. He has taught bassoon methods at The Hartt School and maintains interests in music history, theory, and the intersections of music, politics, and culture. His scholarly work has included research on organology, historical music theory, and composers whose contributions have been marginalized within traditional narratives of Western art music.
