Elizabeth Fay has been teaching violin for over a decade. She has worked with children as young as three and adults as old as fifty. Ms. Fay received her BFA in violin performance from Carnegie Mellon and her masters in violin performance from The Hartt School of Music. Elizabeth did her long term Suzuki training with Teri Einfeldt and has also taken continuing education courses with Ronda Cole, Linda Fiore, and Loraine Fink. Prior to teaching at Hartt, Ms. Fay taught at Sandford Ruening’s Ithaca Talent Education program. Elizabeth is devoted to the Hartt Suzuki program and also loves teaching in the school’s Gifts of Music program and chamber music program. Ms. Fay believes every child can and should be given the opportunity to learn music. Many of Ms. Fay’s students go on to major in music but this is not the focus of her teaching. Her joy of teaching comes from seeing students use music and the skills they acquire from studying the violin in all areas of their lives. Elizabeth has also enjoyed being a guest clinician at the Ogontz Suzuki Institute, Hartt Suzuki Institute, New England Suzuki Workshop, Bethwood School of Music, and New Jersey Suzuki Workshop in Princeton. In her spare time Ms. Fay enjoys hiking and running. She is also a black belt in karate so all of her students practice!

I teach the Suzuki philosophy and believe that every child has the ability to learn. To help a child reach their potential, I encourage parent participation, stress the importance of group class, and do my best to create a positive atmosphere for each student to learn.
