Madison Mullen interned with the Finance department at United Technologies Research Center. This position focused on the cost management side of accounting. Under the supervision of her manager, she developed a process to track the amount of cost share approved by directors of government campaigns.
The intensity of this high-profile project exposed her to project management and the internshipgave her a better understanding of the professional business world. In addition, she took on leadership roles by arranging social events for UTRC’s summer intern class, conducted weekly status meetings for the cost share project, and learned about the various roles within Finance that UTRC has to offer.

As a transfer student, I found the University of Hartford has gotten me career-focused and this reflects on my academic achievements. The Barney School influenced me to take on new challenges, and majoring in Accounting is something I never saw myself being capable of achieving. Transferring to UHart was the best decision I’ve made.
