Jamaal Fields-Green ‘18 joins the Chicago cast of Hamilton
I feel at home on the stage and because of my training I was able to jump right into this show, and take everything they threw at me, which was a lot.”
Prior to his debut performance Fields-Green said, “These past few weeks have been nothing short of a dream. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. And an even bigger thank you to those who said I couldn't do it. To say I'm grateful is truly an understatement.”
He continued, “I remember when I was younger, I would dream about living this life and getting the opportunity to do shows of this caliber. I promised myself that I would get myself to where I wanted to be, period. No ifs, ands, or buts. All the late nights in the studio, practicing and hard work paid off.”
With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton opened on Broadway in 2015 and opened in Chicago in 2016. Miranda based this hit production on Ron Chernow’s book Alexander Hamilton.
