A Family Legacy of Learning and Giving Back: Bettina Eulie and Her UHart Connection

Eulie family

For Bettina Eulie, the University of Hartford isn’t just where her children earned their degrees, it’s a community that continues to inspire her long after their graduations.

Both of Bettina’s sons, Anthony Eulie ’19, M’25 and Joseph Eulie ’19, are proud graduates of the Barney School of Business, where they built strong foundations that led to successful careers after graduation. Her daughter-in-law, Dr. Samantha E. Peters Eulie ’20, D’23, followed closely behind, earning her degrees from UHart as well.

Now, Bettina remains an active member of the UHart community, taking advantage of the University’s professional and personal development opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. Most recently, she attended a session with environmental advocate and filmmaker Céline Cousteau, part of UHart’s Inclusive Excellence and Belonging Professional Development series, as well as a powerful campus talk from Bryan Terrell Clark, the Hamilton actor and motivational speaker.

A lifelong lover of the arts and Broadway, Bettina says experiences like these remind her why she values staying connected to UHart. “I’ve been taking my kids to Broadway their whole lives,” she said. “I want them to see the world, to see what people need to overcome. Hearing speakers like Céline Cousteau and Bryan Terrell Clark brings that same message of empathy and resilience home to campus.”

For Bettina, UHart’s commitment to offering these opportunities reflects something special about the University’s relationship with its community. “What’s special about UHart is that they give something back to the people who give,” she said. “It makes the experience worth the investment.”

Beyond her role as a committed parent and active university alum, Bettina also lives daily the value of education. At Caldwell University in New Jersey, she serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Nursing & Public Health department, where she mentors and prepares nursing students for real-world careers.

She encourages other parents and alumni to stay involved, whether by attending events, volunteering, or supporting the University’s programs. “Parents should stay connected to the University and give back so that events like this can continue to happen,” Bettina said. “What you put into your kids and your school, you will get out. If you put in the effort, it will be returned to you multiple times over. You’ll get a sense of community and be with people who have the same passion as you, ensuring that future UHart students get the same benefits your students got.”

Through her family’s deep UHart connections and her continued engagement, Bettina Eulie exemplifies what it means to be part of a lifelong community of learning, giving, and belonging.
