For alumnus Rafael Bolívar ’12, MBA ’14, meaningful work in healthcare has always been about people first.
A two time graduate of the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, Rafael has built a career helping healthcare organizations grow and evolve while keeping the focus on better outcomes for the communities they serve. With more than 15 years of experience across payer, provider, and medical device organizations, he brings both strategic insight and a strong sense of purpose to his work.
Rafael traces much of his professional momentum back to his time at UHart. At Barney, he found an environment that encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and real world thinking. The combination of hands on learning and close faculty support helped him strengthen both his analytical skills and his confidence as an emerging business leader.
After graduating, Rafael began his career at Aetna through a highly competitive professional development program that rotated him across several areas of the organization. The experience gave him broad exposure early on and helped him see how different parts of a healthcare enterprise connect and depend on one another.
Over the years, Rafael has taken on leadership roles across Aetna/CVS Health, Baxter, ChenMed, and Priority Health. In each setting, he focused on helping teams align strategy with day to day execution in complex and fast changing environments.
Today, Rafael serves as vice president of strategic marketing and growth at Adchor, a marketing and consulting agency focused on helping organizations move forward with confidence. In this role, he partners closely with clients to turn data driven insights into practical strategies that support long term success.
Through it all, Rafael has remained connected to the Barney School of Business. He credits UHart with helping him build the foundation, perspective, and professional confidence that continue to shape his career.
A proud Hartford Hawk, Rafael remains committed to paying forward the lessons he gained at UHart while continuing to grow as a leader in the healthcare space.
