Support UHart's Track and Field team by participating in the annual Hawktober 5k. Registration fee of $30 per person–register before Oct. 1 to receive your t-shirt via mail in advance of the run. Those registering after Oct. 1 will receive t-shirts following Hawktober Weekend. The first 50 registrants will also receive UHart-branded shoelaces and shoe tags.

NYC Regional Meetup  6 p.m. Virtual
Whether or not you've attended our last two NYC alumni virtual meetups, you won't want to miss this one with host Jasmaine Seaberry '11. Come prepared for more giveaways than ever and a chance to grow and RE:Connect with your UHart NYC community. Make sure to register by Oct. 1 to ensure that you receive your exclusive swag package before the event.

Creating a Successful Future: Learn More About Graduate Programs and Financial Aid Opportunities at UHart  12:30 p.m.Virtual
Join the Offices of Graduate Admission and Student Financial Aid for a presentation on graduate programs at UHart, including the financial aid opportunities available to students. A live Q+A session will wrap up this virtual event.

Legacy Family Feud  6 p.m.. Virtual
Our virtual spin on the classic game show. Survey says: Fun! Legacy families are invited to compete against each other with the most popular answers for each question the host presents. Laughter, connection, and prizes guaranteed!

Anchor Awards  7–8:30 p.m.. Virtual
UHart's annual awards event to celebrate the brilliance, success, and accomplishments of our talented 2021 award recipients. Alumni, friends, and family welcome. Read more about the recipients.

Helping Hawks 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. On Campus
Helping Hawks is UHart’s traditional day of service, when students, staff, faculty, and alumni participate in service projects with non-profit organizations throughout the greater Hartford area (and around the country). This is a wonderful opportunity for the campus community to engage with the local community and assist our area partners in tackling some of the items on their ever-growing to-do lists.

Golden Hawks Classes of 1970 and 1971 50th Reunion 11 a.m. Virtual

Reconnect with University of Hartford classes of 1970 and 1971 during Hawktober to celebrate a most joyous milestone, your 50th reunion and induction into the Golden Hawks. Please join us, virtually, as we take a trip down memory lane to the late '60s and early '70s archives, explore the ways that campus has changed in the last 50 years, and share your most nostalgic moments.

What's New from the Hawk's View  11 a.m. Virtual
Join a member of our Admission staff and a student tour guide to learn about the most recent updates and changes to the UHart campus. Come along as we explore all the ways the University has helped our Hawks spread their wings!

Virtual Networking Mixer  12:30–1:30 p.m. Virtual
Let the power of the UHart Network astound you! Alumni leaders in industries across the board will join us for a panel discussion followed by the opportunity to connect individually and in small groups with fellow UHart alumni.

Class of 2016 Reunion Social at Alvarium  5 p.m. Off Campus
Come join us to reconnect with your 2016 classmates at a casual five-year reunion social at an alumni owned brewery, Alvarium. Your $10 registration cost includes two drink tickets and a University of Hartford pint glass in addition to a few other surprises. Delicious food will be available for purchase at the food truck of the week. Make sure you tell your old roomies!

Shabbat Service and Dinner  5 p.m. Hybrid
Alumni, students, and their parents are invited to attend a Shabbat service, followed by a delicious catered dinner. 

Drive-In Movie at Manchester Parkade Cinema  7 p.m. Off Campus
Fill your car with UHart family and friends (and future Hawks!) and join us for a fun drive-in experience—complete with special UHart treats. Drive-in tickets are per vehicle. The picture of the evening will be Hocus Pocus.

Painting with a Twist  7 p.m. Virtual
Paint night led by a UHart alum and artist, Samantha Thompson-Foster '05! Bring your UHart friends, family, and favorite beverage as we create some beautiful art and have some laughs.

Jazz Brunch  11 a.m.–2 p.m. SOLD OUT
Join fellow alumni, parents, and students for everyone’s favorite part of Hawktober Weekend—the annual Jazz Brunch. This year, we are thrilled to gather at Rosedale Farms and Vineyard in Simsbury, Conn; which is owned and operated by alum Marshall Epstein '74. You will be welcomed to this picturesque location during the peak of the Farmington River valley’s foliage season, and will enjoy a delicious New Orleans-themed brunch under the Rosedale tent, accompanied by lively jazz music performed by alums of The Hartt School. Tickets are $30/person and include brunch, your first beverage, and all the smooth jazz you can handle. This event often sells out, so reserve your spot soon!

A Taste of Home  11 a.m. On Campus
Visit us at Commons Dining Hall for a chance to see your family recipe highlighted at the Taste of Home meal! Aramark will be featuring 8–12 UHart family dishes, submitted by UHart students and their families. To enter your family dish for consideration, submit your recipe to taste@hartford.edu.

Celebration of 30 Years of UHart Architecture  1–3 p.m. Hybrid
Join us for a celebration of 30 years of the undergraduate architecture program. Tour the studios, woodshop, and fabrication lab; view student projects and accomplishments; and meet with your classmates, other graduates, and current students. If you are unable to join us in person, catch us on Zoom for a panel discussion and networking.

The Evolution and Evaluation of the Center for Student Success  2 p.m. Virtual
See how the Center for Student Success has evolved to meet the changing needs of UHart students over the past five years! Hear about key "wins," student feedback and success stories, and get all your questions about the Center for Student Success answered. 

Study Abroad 101 for Parents and Students  2 p.m. Virtual
Interested in an educational experience overseas? UHart offers everything from the traditional study abroad experience to internships, research, service-learning/volunteer, and teach abroad programs. Students can study abroad in over 50 different countries, and there are options available from one week to one year and everything in between. Education abroad can be an excellent rèsumè booster (did you know only one out of 10 U.S. college students choose to study abroad?) and every UHart student is eligible to participate. You'll be able to hear from the International Center and former study abroad students—join the session to learn more and get your questions answered!

Talk with a Hawk  3 p.m. Virtual
Hear the inside scoop from our current students as they answer your questions! Our panel will discuss all things related to student life and academics while sharing their own experiences. Co-hosted by our Student Government Association, we invite all first-year students and families, and anyone who wants to connect with the UHart community!

Men's Soccer vs. Binghamton  4 p.m. On Campus
Cheer on your UHart Hawks at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium as they take on the Binghamton Bearcats!

Ceramic Olympics and Raku Magic  4 p.m. Virtual
Join Dirty For a Reason Clay Club in the magic of Raku Firing, a volatile and exciting process, and then interact with our Clay Olympic event, in which star Club members will compete in unconventional construction techniques. Two lucky audience members will be entered in a free raffle to win pieces from the raku firing!

Saturday Vigil Mass and Reception  4:30 p.m. On Campus
Catholic Campus Ministry invites students, alumni, parents, and families to attend the Roman Catholic Vigil Mass on Saturday evening at the Catholic Campus Ministry Center, 207 Bloomfield Avenue, across from the main entrance to campus. The Newman Club will host a reception of light refreshments after Mass.

Hartford Has It  5 p.m. Virtual
Shannon Mumley M'17 and our friends from Hartford.com will facilitate a short talk on all things Hartford, giving UHart parents the opportunity to learn more about their students' home away from home! The city of Hartford has so much to offer from a vibrant food scene to arts and culture to internship/volunteer opportunities, and much more. Best of all, it is right in our backyard. After attending this session, you’ll have a few more items on your to-do list for the next time you are in town!

STN Alumni Show  5 p.m. Virtual
STN alumni are invited to watch and participate in the annual STN Alumni Show. The preparation and run-through of the show will be from 2–5 p.m. and the live show will be at 5 p.m.

School of Communication Alumni Reception  5 p.m. On Campus
School of Communication alumni are invited to attend a reception where you can catch up with other graduates and faculty. Complimentary appetizers and beverages provided. This reception will feature tours of our newly expanded audio production studio and equipment room, TV studio with updated sets, Abrahms Hall facilities, and the debut of our new student agency, Crested Communications. The live STN Alumni Show will be shown in the 1877 Club at 5 p.m.

UHart Parents Breakfast Social  9:30–10:30 a.m. On Campus
Hosted by UHart's Parent Network, we invite you to join fellow parents for a casual meet and greet over a safely catered breakfast. Connect with other families going through a similar UHart experience as your student, exchange stories, and enjoy great conversation. Chat with Victoria Sandoval, director of parent engagement and philanthropy, who can answer your questions on how to stay more connected and create your own, unique UHart experience as a proud parent! 

9/11 Memorial Bench Dedication noon–12:30 p.m. On Campus
You are invited to join the University of Hartford Alumni Board of Directors as we honor the memory of James J. Hobin M'82, Robert L. Horohoe Jr. A'91, Richard M Keane M'84, Stuart S. Louis '80, George P. McLaughlin Jr. '86, and Daniel R. Nolan '83. These alumni were among the nearly 3,000 people killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. All six were graduates of the Barney School of Business and perished at the World Trade Center that day. Join us for a somber remembrance with music from The Hartt School and reflections from University Leadership and Maureen Leathers, president of the Alumni Board.

Sunday Vigil Mass and Reception  1 p.m. Hybrid
Catholic Campus Ministry invites students, alumni, parents, and families to attend Roman Catholic Mass on Sunday afternoon at the Catholic Campus Ministry Center, 207 Bloomfield Avenue, across from the main entrance to campus. The Newman Club will host a light lunch reception after Mass. This Mass will also be live-streamed on Zoom, with a virtual meet and greet following Mass.

Women's Soccer vs. Stony Brook  1 p.m. On Campus
Cheer on your UHart Hawks at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium as they take on the Stony Brook Seawolves!

Volleyball vs. Albany  5 p.m. On Campus 
Cheer on your UHart Hawks at the Volleyball Gym in the Sports Center as they take on the Albany Great Danes!
