Annual Writing Contests Now Accepting Submissions

The 2024 Writing Contests are now accepting submissions!

Every year, the Department of English and Modern Languages holds writing competitions in multiple categories, recognizing work written in introductory classes (like WRT 110, 111, and 210); critical essays on literature, art, and film; interdisciplinary essays; and original poems, plays, personal essays, and stories. The competitions are open to any University of Hartford student and we will give away thousands of dollars in prize money.

Did you write a great essay in WRT 110, a few years back? Send it in!

Do you have any poems or stories tucked away on your computer? Send them in!

How about any essays that address more than one discipline? It is free to enter these contests. Why not take a chance?
