Two Faculty Members Awarded Travel Grants from the Whiting Foundation

Associate Professor of Art History, Amanda Carlson, and Assistant Professor of Architecture, Mehdi Danesh, were awarded Whiting Foundation Travel Fellowships, which provide support for travel associated with enhancing the quality of instruction at the college or university level.

Dr. Carlson will travel to Senegal for one month to meet designers and artists who work with textiles: contemporary creatives making sartorial statements on the runway and in art galleries. This will broaden her teaching of Art history and Africana Studies courses.

Dr. Danesh will travel to Germany and Czechia to study high-performing buildings, focusing on advanced passive and active systems. The aim is to integrate global best practices into the Environmental Systems and Advanced Systems courses at the University of Hartford.

Congratulations to both recipients!
