The Hartt School’s Director of Admission and Financial Awards, Maggie Wyporek Spear, will be leaving The Hartt School at the end of the summer to take on the role of Assistant Director of College Counseling at The Ethel Walker School and to spend more time with her family. Maggie’s last day will be Aug. 8, 2025.
During Maggie's fourteen years at Hartt, she served the Community Division for nine years in numerous leadership roles and proved to be a valuable asset, significantly contributing to the increase in enrollment. Due to her proven leadership and innovative thinking, Maggie was appointed Assistant Director of Admission for The Hartt School—and quickly thereafter Director of Admission—during COVID-19, one of the School's most difficult times. Post COVID-19, Maggie's leadership has had an enormous impact in streamlining Hartt’s admission process and increasing Hartt’s recruitment efforts. “In the time I have worked with Maggie, I have found her to be one of the most committed and devoted individuals, tirelessly supporting our school. There is no doubt the work she has accomplished will benefit The Hartt School for many years to come,” says Hartt School Dean Dale Merrill.
Please join us at a farewell gathering to wish Maggie well in her future endeavors and to thank her for her many years of service to The Hartt School, the Hartt Community Division, and the University. The gathering will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Terrace, Fuller Music Center, between Millard Circle and the waterfall. The location in the event of rain is Sukman Foyer (Fuller Music Center).
