Juan Esteban Rodriguez ’27 recently won the Miclot International Music Competition. As a result, he will be performing at Lincoln Center's Bruno Walter Auditorium in New York City on Sept. 6. Furthermore, he was invited to perform a solo recital at the St. Andrew’s by-the-sea Summer Concert Series in Little Compton, RI on September 14.
Additionally, earlier this summer, both Sebastian Sanchez Mondragon ’28 and Juan Rodriguez ’27 participated at the 2025 Forte Yearly International Festival & Competition in Shanghai, China. They performed at the Shanghai Performing Arts Center. The connections to Hartt were further amplified at the event, as this festival was founded by Yimiao Fan, a Hartt DMA candidate. The festival included students and faculty from The Hartt School Manhattan School of Music, and Boston University.
When associate professor of piano, and chair of keyboard Jose Ramos Santana shared the news, he shared “what it is remarkable is that these students are undergraduates and they already are receiving this accolades and opportunities that predicts, if everything stays in course, a brilliant future in their musical careers and a great credit to Hartt!”
Ramos Santana also noted that “these achievements reflects their discipline, focus and dedication to developing their potential. This is very special and well deserved for their hard work. These students are and example of the talents found at The Hartt School; let this be an inspiration to others.”
