Register for FIN410 (Applied Financial Analysis)

FIN410 (Applied Financial Analysis) is the gateway course to the student managed investment fund here at the University of Hartford.

The course teaches you how to analyze and pick stocks to form a well-diversified portfolio with the aim to outperform a benchmark index on a risk-adjusted basis.

Once you graduate from the class, you continue being part of the student managed fund and are given roles within the fund. The typical progression is from an analyst to a portfolio manager: mimicking an actual mutual fund.

Students benefit from several opportunities being part of the Fund like participating in several competitions (CFA challenge, Bloomberg Trading competition, Southeastern Hedge Fund competition, etc.) and conferences (like Quinnipiac GAME forum) and get the opportunity to network with alumni and leaders in the financial services industry on an ongoing basis.

If you are a finance major, minor, or just a student with an interest in investing, consider signing up for FIN410!
