
Come learn about making a living as a potter! Jen Allen will discuss her work and career with HAS Ceramics on Friday, Sept. 12 from 2 p.m.–5 p.m.
The artist talk will be at 2 p.m. and studio demonstration from 3 p.m.–5 p.m.

Jen is an internationally celebrated studio potter, educator, entrepreneur and mother based in Morgantown, W.V. She discovered clay in 1995, has been fully immersed in ceramics ever since and become a leader in the field, recognized by the National Council for the Education of Ceramic Arts (NCECA) as an “Emerging Artist,” awarded a 2006–07 Taunt Fellowship Residency at the Archie Bray Foundation, and currently offering her innovative “Pottery Patterns” and “Instructional Video” series along with selling functional work at numerous major galleries and festivals across the country. Jen earned her BFA from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and her MFA from Indiana University, Bloomington. She and her husband, Shoji Satake, have two children, Annelise and Finn. When she's not creating pottery, teaching, or designing templates, you’ll likely find her at the hockey rink, cheering on her kids' teams.
