This marks Calafiore’s second solo and third overall exhibition with the gallery. He shared this exciting news, as well as other recent highlights including a recent acquisition and an upcoming public program.
According to the CLAMP press release, the solo exhibition “brings together Calafiore's newest nude studies, conceived as staged, theatrical tableaux. Drawing on art historical precedents, from Greek and Roman statuary to odalisques, as well as the expressive positioning of George Platt Lynes and the story tale sequencing of Duane Michals, each composition unfolds like a scene from a play, where gesture, posture, and illumination orchestrate both narrative and affect. The bodies appear simultaneously present and ephemeral, illuminated with the translucency of stained glass.”
The exhibition will be held Nov. 7–Dec. 20 with a reception scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. The gallery is located at 247 W 29 Street between 7 and 8 Avenues in New York City.
Calafiore also shares equally exciting accolades, stating that he is “humbled and thrilled to announce the acquisition of a major work, by the Wadsworth Atheneum.” The still life work entitled “Oggetti di Vetro, Fuoco,” will installed at the museum for viewing later this fall and will be accompanied by an artist conversation with Jared Quinton, curator of Contemporary Art and the Matrix Program, at the Wadsworth Atheneum on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at 1 p.m. Calafiore also expressed his “sincerest thanks to the curators, acquisition committee, donor, and supporters at the museum for their support.”
In addition, Calafiore will participate in a public discussion on Wednesday, Dec. 10 with Jared Quinton entitled “Why Contemporary Art Matters,” presented by the University of Hartford President’s College.
As the associate dean of finance and administration at the Hartford Art School, Calafiore, earned a BFA from Hartford Art School and an MFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
