Rudy Al Ahmar, assistant professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Hartford, joined WTNH to provide expert insight into a SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage that impacted the Moon.
During the interview, Al Ahmar explained the factors involved in tracking and navigating spacecraft over long distances, as well as how a rocket stage can ultimately end up on a collision course with the Moon. He also discussed the significance of the event for the growing field of lunar exploration and the challenges engineers face as more spacecraft and debris travel through the space between Earth and the Moon.
Al Ahmar’s News 8 appearance highlights the expertise of UHart faculty and their ability to bring aerospace engineering knowledge to current events in space exploration.
